Public Run - 5/01/2011

Judson Elliott helping Robbi bring in supplies and beverages before the public run. Josh Frank, wearing rain gear and smiling as he comes down the ramp from the steaming bay turntable heading for the main line.
Josh, sans the rain gear, helps his Grandpa Skip Frank, turn the steam engine, Lynn, to put it in a steaming bay. Skip lubricates the running mechanism as Lynn raises steam and Josh watches Frank Foti work on East Wind.
The members congregate at the station and talk about the good old times or the weather. Trains all lined up and waiting for the first passengers and the beginning of the public run.
An overcast day, as members wait at the station for the start of the run, but it still doesn't dampen our spirits. Dick Clark, one of the first to load, waiting for the "all aboard" to open the throttle and move down the main line.
Mike Harkleroad looks back over his load of passengers waiting for Robbi to give the "all aboard" to start his run. Richard Sales departing the station with his two passengers on his home-built engine that he manufactures and Bill Besselman, our passenger counter for the run, is in the background.
Ken Brooks checks his air pressure as Rick Nagy departs the station with a full load of passengers. Caught Ken at Pandora just coming off the Big Bend Bridge with his passengers as they head for Shoe and the Covered Bridge.
Rex Shriver, with a raincoat on his engine in case of rain, rumbles by the photographer after he left the Big Bend Bridge as he heads for Shoe. Ted Nyland with his pair of interurbans and passengers rolls by the photographer on his way to the Covered Bridge.
Frank with East Wind rumbles over the end of the Big Bend Bridge with his smiling passengers. Dick with his SW1500 just about in the middle of the Big Bend Bridge as he heads for Shoe.
Ken Vendlinger running light as he is about to start over the Big Bend Bridge gives a wave to the photographer. Richard just passed by Mackey's Run on his way to the Big Bend Bridge with his load of passengers.
Just coming off the Truss Bridge we caught Skip with Josh as they start up the grade at Mackey's Run, with Lynn hardly working. Rick with the club's GP38 engine as he takes the grade at Mackey's Run and will soon be rumbling over the Big Bend Bridge with John Koontz as conductor.
With passengers looking at the photographer as he takes their picture coming off the Truss Bridge, Ken starts accelerating for the grade at Mackey's Run. Rex with his electric-powered switcher about to pass through the Truss Bridge.
Ted with his interurbans having just passed through Fern, will soon be crossing the Truss Bridge. East Wind pulling Frank and his passengers through Fern is hardly working at all as she comes down the gentle grade.
Dick approaching Shoe about to pass through the Covered Bridge; and Mike following behind with the Park Engine. A picture of Mike as he passes the photographer with his passengers.
Frank with East Wind just passing over the Cider Bridge, nearing the end of his run as he heads toward the station. Jerry Bell, as engineer, giving a relief to Rex to make a couple runs with his train, with Anna Zorko about to unload his passengers.
Dick rolls into the station at the end of his run and will soon unload his passengers -- and the rain is still holding off. Bill Deptowicz finally put down his camera and took a turn as engineer of the GP38 and waits for Anna to unload his passengers after arriving back at the station.
This family was visiting the US from Poland and were happy to take a ride with their three children. Pam Znidar, in the comfy conductor seat, is all smiles as she waits for passengers to load for the next train ride.
Diane Hopp, Edith Hacker and Bonnie Zaken with a guest are filling up the train to make a full load during the public run. Ted Nyland, having set aside his interurbans, is caught as engineer for the Park Engine and is sticking out his tongue at the photographer!
Rex back at the controls of his electric-powered switcher is about to depart the station with his passengers. Rick waits for Robbi to begin loading passengers for his next trip.
Rick with passengers in abundance and Pam as conductor just starting to roll out of the station. A good picture of Bill Besselman as he watches over the passengers, taking their count as they board the trains.
One of the last trains to leave the station at the end of the run with John as conductor. Rex starting to pull away from the station with Anna, Edith and Bonnie as his passengers.
