Today we celebrate Railroads in the Park with this public run, and here we have Dick Clark as engineer of the GP38 with Joe Vasko at the rear as his conductor. With "Lynn" bellowing out smoke from her exhaust stack she departs the station under the deft hand of Skip Frank.
John Deptowicz departs the station with a load of smiling passengers on his Snoopy train. Paul Emch running his Nickel Plate Road SW9 switcher with Ken Brooks sitting behind him as they depart the station.
Frank Foti fires East Wind with Lou DeLembo on the rear as conductor while they wait for Ken Vendlinger to finish his passenger loading by Roy and Linda Harris. Passing through Zip Junction, Ted Nyland with his pair of interurban's and his passengers who seem to be enjoying the ride.
Ken coming down the grade from Horrendous gives a wave to the photographer as he passes by Filmor. Looking over the plate girder bridge I caught Frank with a full load of passengers as he's about to pass over the crossing for the Branch Line.
Ron Malinowski as engineer at the controls of Rex Shriver's train as he approaches Filmor with his passengers. Next to come by at the same location was Richard Sales with his electric powered engine.
Skip with his circus train having just passed through High Creek with his passengers is on his way towards Horrendous. Minutes later John passed by the same location with his Snoopy train.
Paul having just passed through Hemlock will shortly be rumbling over the Truss Bridge with his train full of passengers. Jenny Zorko came into view following behind, running her dads engine and is all smiles.
A low angle shot of Kenny as he passes by the same location on his way towards the Truss Bridge. Soon to follow was Frank as he gave a blast of East Winds' whistle for the photographer.
A few minutes later Ron came by after just coming down the grade from Hilton as he to heads towards the Truss Bridge. John exits out of the Truss Bridge with the Snoopy train as his passengers give a wave to the photographer.
Richard about the pass over the grade crossing after exiting the Truss Bridge with his trainload of passengers. Next to come along, Skip as he emerges from the Truss Bridge will soon be taking the grade up to Mackey's Run and the Big Bend Bridge.
Ken Brooks at the controls of the park engine as he passes by Mackey's Run and that's Lew Fowler as his conductor on the rear. Dick gives a wave as he approaches the Big Bend Bridge with his passengers and Joe as his conductor.
Now there's some happy passengers as they ride on Ted's interurban's and are headed towards the 120 foot long Big Bend Bridge. Back up at the station we find Mike Harkleroad at the controls of Don's engine as he departs the station with his riders.
Bill Deptowicz at the controls of the Snoopy train having just passed through Thorn and within a minute or so will be back at the station. Bill waits at the loading zone as Frank nudges East Winds throttle to move out on down to the mainline switch.
With Roy having loaded the Snoopy train, Bill starts to accelerate out of the station amid the sounds of a reving Sopwith Camel engine as Snoopy tries to take off with his flying doghouse. Ken starts to gain speed with the Park engine and no that's not smoke coming out of his hat. Or maybe he's thinking!
There is the cause of the smoke, Skip with his engine "Lynn" as he checks the fire before departing the station. Mike having taken on another load of passengers starts his next run with Bill Besselman in a chair on the other side of the train taking count of the passengers today.
Jenny at the controls of the Paul Emch's SW9 as she departs the station with her passengers. Paul with his NKP Hudson steam type engine waiting for Roy to finish loading has train before departing.
Bill Besselman talks to Ron as he starts to accelerate the train on his last run for the day hauling public riders as there are only a few more people in line waiting to ride. John takes a few more people and starts his run.
Joe Vasko at the controls of Emchs' train waits to see if any more riders will be loaded on the train before he departs Shriver Station. With Dick and John at the loading area, these two trains may handle the rest of the riders standing in line.
Dick arriving back at the station with the last load of the public riders and the run is officially over. On the loop behind the station Josh Frank was running Metts' military engine with Logan Tapolyai, Ethan Deptowicz, Austin Tapolyai and a visiting guest riding behind.
Austin Tapolyai as engineer of the Snoopy train with John, Amy and Ethan Deptowicz all smiles riding behind him as they rumble over the Big Bend Bridge. A few minutes later Josh appeared with Metts' train with Logan and the guest riding behind on the mainline.
