Work Session - 5/05/10

Ken Brooks has taken over the grounds keeping around the station and I caught him cutting the grass while we were at the station. Ken between the steaming bays.
Edith Hacker digging some of the dirt from around the base of this tree stump at the end of the yard. Frank Foti giving the photographer that "Here's looking at you!", but that cap isn't on his head!
Dick Clark and Frank watch as Rick digs out the existing ballast and dirt for the new rail and ties. Lew Fowler and Joe Banzer have the cowling off the Park engine to work on the missing horn.
The laying of track and switches that are connected together and soon will be ballasted. Rick dumping some ballast on the track as Dick prepares to sight down and level the track.
Rick is going to get another train load of ballast. The trainload of ballast was brought and we dumped it on the newly laided track.
Another view of the ballast just dumped on the track which still has to be straightened, leveled and tamped in place. Rick taking the tools back to storage as we heard a severe storm is moving through the area shortly.
