5.11.06 Work Session

This is the plaque that we are presenting to Sam Foti for the use of his plant in making up our crossovers these past few weeks. Another picture without the flash.
In conjunction with the plaque Dick Clark printed out and framed a satellite photo of the plant. Dick presenting the plaque to Sam Foti in appreciation for using the facilities at Hose Master.
Sam Foti with his son Frank behind him showing the plaque. Dick explaining the "Track Crew 7" engraved on the plaque as George Woodling watches.
After Dick presented Sam with the photo of the plant a group shot of the members of Track Crew 7 that were present for the event, George, Frank, Dick, George, Joe and of course, Sam Foti.
Sam Foti with his presentations and his son Frank Foti. Chris Ashley, a welder with Hose Master, brought the acetylene tanks over to the bench and stars heating the rail in a vise.
Our last crossover for now on the transfer table. The rails were welded down to the plate at the last work session here. Frank starting to bend the tip of the guard rail in the vise.
Four guard rails bent and four more to bend then off ot the welding station. Chris welding the inside guard rails and Dick is lending a helping hand to hold the rail against the shims.
Chris TIG welding the guard rails without the sparks of stick welding and no scale to chip afterwards. In this shot Chris is finishing up by welding across the foot of the rail to the plate as added insurance.
Bill Deptowicz with the grinder and cutoff wheel cutting the slots in the crossing for the wheel flange clearances. With the grinding done the crossing is carried to Dicks van.
Dick, Joe and Frank leaning into the back of the van with the crossing. Part of "Track Crew 7", Bill, Joe, Frank, George, Dick and George. Dave Foster was on vacation.
