5.16.08 Work Session

I went over to Dave Fosters place to help with the welding up of the vertical support frames for our new car storage barn. After we clamped the members together and measured diagonally to check for being square, Dave welded the frames.
After we squared the frames we clamped a steel angle diagonal to hold them in place. We had six frames of this size to make up and the one side had holes drilled in them because they will attach to the wall.
One set of six done and these will hold a double track for the cars. We've got the first narrow frame, made for one track, aligned, welded and Dave is removing clamps.
The last of the narrow frames being welded. The stack leaning in the doorway and we are done for today because the center supports in our shed tie into the bottom chord of the roof trusses and need slotted holes milled in the ends so as not to carry roof load.
