5.20.07 Public Run

Frank Foti oiling journal boxes getting "East Wind" ready for the run. Skip Frank is going over his engine as the engines steam pressure builds.
With "East Wind" connected to the tender and steam pressure up Frank gets ready to move the engine on the turntable. Ted Nyland watches as Skip's "Lynn" lifts its safety to relieve some steam pressure.
Don Speidel talks with Dave Foster on his speeder as Roy Harris(red Hat) loads Dick Clarks' train with the first load of passengers. Judson Elliott waits for the "All Aboard" from Roy before moving his train.
Linda Harris, with her passengers loaded, starts her run on the repainted Conrail engine. Conductor George Davidson blows a whistle to signal the engineer Rick Nagy he can move the train.
A cloud of dust and a Hi Yo Silver...wait, that's just Frank Foti in the smoke with his Pacific leaving the station. Dick Philpott with his electric powered train leaving the station with his passengers.
Ted Nyland with his varnished interurbans getting ready to start his run. Don Speidel, running Pauls NKP train waits for the all clear whistle to start his trip.
Dick Clark starting his passenger run with his SW1500. Judson with the park engine leaving the station with another load of passengers.
I think I figured out why Franks' face is so dirty at the end of a run. Linda crossing Big Bend Bridge at the approximate halfway point of the run.
Skip at Ridgeway blowing the whistle for the photographer as "Lynn" climbs the grade. Rick with the GP38 passing Mackey's Run heading for Big Bend Bridge.
It's so picturesque so see a engine climbing a grade on a curve. Ted with his interurbans at the same location...Mackey's Run.
Dick coming down the grade at Patty's Rock Bridge will soon attack the 3%+ grade ahead. Skip on the main at Filmor and at the Branch Line crossing bridge.
Sitting on the South side of the Branch Line crossing at Filmor and watching the trains coast down the grade to Patty's Rock Bridge.
Frank through the trees as he climbs the grade to High Creek. Frank later on approaching Horrendous with his passengers.
Jerry Bell with the interurbans at Horrendous. Back at the station the line is short so only a few more runs to conclude the public run.
Ted leaving the station with one of the last loads of passengers. With Franks train loaded with the remaining passengers Jerry with the GP38 sits at the loading zone with no passengers to ride.
Behind them at the station the trains sit as the engineers stretch their legs. The signals have been turned on and the engines head out to do some two way running.
Here is a parallel meet on the diamond at Gulch with Dick and Rick with Ron Trenhaile as passenger. Oh no, a corn field meet...someone ran a signal. I wonder who.
Not to worry,.....Dick and Frank will settle it like men. Frank was taking the switch onto Short Line to clear the main when "East Wind" decided to split the switch.
Dick had knee pad and blocking on his train as "East Wind" sits forelorn on the ties. Almost back on the track, just have to get the pilot wheels back on the rails which we successfully accomplished.
