5.23.07 Work Session

Ted Nyland is getting some help from George Metts as another new switch is started. George Woodling and Wally Pausch are making a new track panel on the work bench for the branch line.
Dick Clark is standing in the right-of-way for the extension of the Branch Line beyond the diamond. The embankment with track that we had to create due to the existing elevation of track at the diamond.
Meanwhile the second crew, George Woodling, Lew Fowler and Dave Foster(back to camera) are digging to put the board between the building posts. This view shows the boards in place.
Dave back filling on the outside of the board after installation. A view down the side of the building showing the boards in place.
Lew sitting on the grade wall, between the park building and our building, taking a rest from digging. This picture shows the view from where Lew was sitting with the boards in place.
The track crew are busy laying track on the north side of the diamond for the Branch Line. Joe Banzer is using the tie lifter as George gets the drill as Dick, Rick and Wally take a rest.
George and Joe finish placing and fastening the ties between the diamond and the bridge. Dick was bending the rails for the gentle curve we will have crossing the bridge.
George fastening the rail directly to the bridge deck and using the rail gauges. The track has been secured to the deck and that will end todays work session as it's almost supper time.
