Club Run - 6/01/13

Bob Beardslee arriving back at the station with his steam engine powered train with his son Bob and grandchildren behind him. Scott Hewis backs his train into the siding along the mainline at the end of the station after making a couple runs.
Frank Smoley as engineer on Don Speidel's train with Don riding behind him is eastbound as he will soon be arriving at the station with Ken Vendlinger following with his train. Frank Foti has East Wind under steam and is heading for the car barn to pick up some riding cars as he comes down off the steaming bays.
Richard Sales sitting on Fern Siding is waiting to acquire the signal for the block between Fern at Hemlock after we clear our signal. Bob gives a wave to the cameraman as he has just emerged from the Covered Bridge on his way to Zip Junction.
As Dick Clark takes the sweeping curve into the station westbound, another train departs the station eastbound. Don is in the engineers seat this time and waves to us as we pass by his train we will soon be entering into the station.
Don has just passed by Pandora and is heading towards Shoe before he passes through the Covered Bridge as he's westbound with his passengers. As Dick brings a train to a halt eastbound in front of the station we see Paul Zorko westbound coming into the station with his daughter Jennifer Legan riding behind him.
Dick Philpott who designed the electronics for our signal system is checking over the relays in our weatherproof box which is one of two cabinets that we have for our signals. Here we have in a corner of the Willis Car Barn a 4 foot long black rat snake that found a nest of mice up in the rafters at the end of the building. It's just a different form of a mousetrap.
The snake decided there was nothing up there for dinner tonight and decided to move along heading for the woods. Thomas Ridler standing by the car lift in front of the Willis Car Barn as he waits for dad to assemble the train, they are the ones that noticed the snake.
Mary Ridler with their new baby boy Andrew that she's carrying along with Matthew and Kathryn wait as Jeff Ridler in the background moves cars to assemble his train. Chet Roberts pulls into the yard area with his scratch built electric powered engine that he is still testing out.
Ken Vendlinger with his train eastbound has he heads towards the station with his passengers after having just coming off of the Branch Line. Don Speidel with his train leaving westbound from the station and he has two of the passengers that were on Kenny's train.
I don't know what they were drinking but I'll have some as Jennifer Legan, Edith Hacker, Judy Oscker and Lois Smoley pointing to the rear as they pass the photographer. A low angle shot of Bob Beardslee carrying a bucket of coal to the side after giving his dad, Bob Beardslee, coal in the tender for the steamer.
This close-up view makes it look as though Bob's got his head in the smoke, but it's actually off to the side as he fires the steamer. Scott Hewis with his diesel waits for Bob to get things sorted out on the firing of his steamer before he can start his next run.
The Ridler's have arrived at the station with Jeff, Kathryn, Thomas, Matthew, and Mary with Andrew on the train for this smiling family photo. Photo of Andrew in a sling against his mother Mary Ridler as they sit on the train.
Winnie Roberts departs the station eastbound with her dad Sean Robert's train and the family in tow as Jennifer Legan watches from the station. Paul Zorko arriving at the train station with his passengers Edith Hacker, Judy Oscker and Lois Smoley along for the ride.
Dave Cryor as engineer of Steve Zaken's train with Steve riding behind as they approached the station westbound from their run. Franki arriving at the station with East Wind with his passengers as Scott with his diesel is eastbound in the distance just leaving the station.
This view of the activity at the station with three trains that had arrived and have not yet departed cause a lineup until the ones ahead depart for their next run. Sean arriving back at the station with his youngest daughter running his box cab powered train with the family.
Three members of our club, Ken Brooks, our president of the club, Rick Nagy and Paul Zorko sitting out on the grade wall in front of the station watching the trains as they arrive and depart. Sean checking out the seats on his train before making another run.
A view looking from High Creek towards Horrendous showing the signal masts you will encounter when passing through, depending which route you take. As we approach our white signal Matthew and Frank at the left of the picture will soon clear their block and the red on the signal in the center of the picture will clear to white, ready to acquire.
This view shows the block ahead of us on our train is clear and Matthew and Frank have cleared the signal for the block behind them for any following trains. Jeff Ridler going down grade from Filmor with his train as we travel on the Branch Line and are about to cross over the 2 George's Bridge.
Dick with his SW1500 waits for us to clear the signal so he can acquire access to the block we are just now leaving on the Branch Line. Most of our railroad is in the wooded area with some of the long-standing trees that have begun to show their age.
Rick has a red signal that indicates a occupied block and Sean Roberts in the distance will clear the signal which is this side of the Branch Line track crossing the mainline beyond Rick's hat in the picture. Well that's it. Mary holds her son Andrew and he seems to be thinking "Mom, I'm bored. Let's go home." So goes another club run.
