Public Run - 6/01/14


Ethan Deptowicz is engineer of the Snoopy train with his dad John and Robbi Haines riding behind him as they pass over the Festival Bridge before the public run. At the station Ken Brooks stops his train at the loading area on track No.1 as Don Speidel departs the station.
Ken with his train in front of the steaming bays having just left the station on his first run. Kevin Harris, in the yellow shirt, has just finished loading Paul Emchs' train and Paul advances the throttle to get rolling.
Ken Vendlinger with his Reading switcher gives a wave as he passes by the water tower on his first run for today. Joe Vasko having passed through Horrendous is on his way towards Zip Junction with his passengers.
John Koontz is the engineer on the club's GP38 headed for Zip Junction with his passengers. At the bottom of the hill by the Truss Bridge I caught Richard Sales running his train with his unusual engineer's seat.
Dick Philpott came through at the same location with his recently completed electric box cab lettered for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Paul Zorko emerges from the Truss Bridge with his passengers as he heads towards Mackey's Run.
Next to pass by was Ted Nyland and his pair of interurban's with his young rider that looks like he's thoroughly enjoying himself with his hands in the air. A view through the trees of Joe Vasko as he's running his train and about to pass thru the Truss Bridge.
Richard coming down the grade from Hilton as he passes by Gulch with his lone rider. Paul passes by the double crossover at Gulch on his way towards the bottom of the grade towards Hilde Hill and Fern.
Dick as he comes down the grade approaching Gulch with his passengers and his good-looking box cab. Ted after passing through Hilton is about to run through the switch that leads to our Stanek Car Barn as he heads downgrade towards Hilde Hill.
Couple minutes later Joe came by with his load of passengers as he started down the grade. Next to arrive at this location is John Deptowicz with his Snoopy train with a family that is enjoying the ride.
John was next to come by with the GP38 with a full load of passengers as he started downgrade heading westbound. Dick Clark with his gas powered SW1500 is about to pass over the crossing for the Branch Line at Hilton with his train.
Ron Malinowski as he approached Hilton running his train, acquired from Rex Shriver, is at the top of the grade and will soon be coasting down to Fern. A few minutes later Kenny came by with his train as he headed towards Hilton and points West.
Paul Emch as he approached Hemlock with his Nickel Plate Railroad switcher and passengers is all smiles. Richard near the beginning of his next run as he passes by the photographer on his way to Drudgery.
Paul on track No. 2 as he takes the switch to move his train to track No. 1 mainline as he starts his next run. Dick has just been loaded by Kevin and is about to begin his next run with his electric box cab.
After a passing meet at Zip Junction, John with the GP38 continues towards Horrendous as Richard runs toward Cider Bridge and Shriver Station. After emerging from the Covered Bridge, Bill Deptowicz running the Snoopy train heads towards Zip Junction.
As Joe passes through Zip Junction with his passengers he is near the end of his run with his SW9 for this trip. After passing through Horrendous, John comes by with his train as he heads for Cider Bridge.
Dick Clark emerges from the Covered Bridge with a small complement of passengers for this trip. Don Speidel was next to come by emerging from the Covered Bridge as he heads towards Zip Junction.
Ron arriving at Shoe after passing through Pandora is about to enter the Covered Bridge. Back at the station Ken departs the station with his passengers and it looks like the waiting line is getting shorter.
Jenny Zorko at the controls of her dad's SW9 waits for the riders to get their riding instructions from Kevin as her mother at the left steps away. Joe watches as Kevin loads his train with riders before he departs the station on his next run.
Dick Philpott with his new electric box cab that he made the sides from high density plastic 1/2" thick and drilled over 1500 holes for the rivets that were just pressed in place. Don as he leaves the station for this run and gains speed with his train.
Paul just starting to pull away from the station with his passengers will soon take the switch over to mainline No. 1 to continue his run. All the passengers are gone, Rex Shriver sits behind John Koontz who finally gets to relax after being at the controls of the engine for a couple hours.
