Public Run - 6/02/13


Before the start of the public run Ken Brooks took his family and friends for a ride and here we see as they just come back and pull up in front of the station. Marty Pinkston, with his electric powered cab departs the station with 2 of the gals and Dan Burnett, all from the Park system for a ride before the start of the public run.
Up on the steaming bays, Skip Frank has "Lynn" under steam and is assembling his cars into a train in preparation for the run today. "Lynn" sits on a steaming bay with a full head of steam ready to do some work.
Richard Sales departs the station with his electric powered engine for for another run around the track before the start of the public run. Paul Emch with his electric powered Nickel Plate Railroad Hudson steam engine has his train all loaded and is just starting to move for his 1st run.
Paul Zorko with his SWS 6 departs the station on his 1st run with a full load of passengers with Dave Cryor, as conductor on the rear. Richard Sales just passes by the branchline to Short as he continues on down the mainline with his passengers.
Dick Clark with his SWS 1500 has just passed through Horrendous is on the crossing for the Park access road as he heads towards Zip Junction. As Skip emerges from the Truss Bridge he blows the whistle for the grade crossing just before Mackey's Run and you can see the puff a steam on the left side of "Lynn".
Scott Hewis with his passengers has just passed through Fern and gives a high five to the photographer just before he rolls through the Truss Bridge. Following a few minutes later Ted Nyland with his pair of interurban's at Fern as he continues westward towards the Truss Bridge, Mackey's Run and Big Bend Bridge.
Marty coasting down the grade from Gulch with his passengers giving a wave to the photographer as they pass by. Don Speidel passes by Hilde Hill on his way towards Fern with John Koontz at the rear as his conductor.
Ken Vendlinger passes by Fern with a happy load of passengers and is about to cross over Bridge #6 on his way to the Truss Bridge. A distant shot of Don as he crosses over the Gulch Bridge and takes on the grade to High Creek with his trainload of passengers.
Another big train coasting down the grade from Hilton through Gulch and headed for Hilde Hill is Rick Nagy with the club's GP 38 and that's Jennifer Legan as his conductor. Following a few minutes later is Rex Shriver with his passengers as he heads for Hilde Hill and points West.
Paul coasting down grade at Gulch is all smiles as he heads for Fern at the bottom of the grade with his Hudson. Kenny climbing the grade towards Gulch as he heads for High Creek and then Horrendous with his passengers.
Dick coming down grade from Hilton will soon be passing through Gulch and that's Lew Fowler as his conductor on the rear. Richard following a few minutes behind Dick as he heads for Gulch and points West.
Paul just passing the yard turn off as he comes down grade from Hilton with his passengers and his 2 new riding cars. Skip just passing through Hemlock and running over the crossing for the branchline with the clickety clack of the wheels as each car gives out the staccato sound as their wheels cross over the gaps.
Rick with the GP 38 at Horrendous and Jennifer as his conductor as they head for the grade down to Filmor. Skip arriving at the same location with "Lynn" billowing smoke from her stack.
Don's passengers get their riding instructions from Robbi Haines prior to him departing the station on his next run. Kenny arriving back at the station with his passengers and that's Anna Zorko standing there to assist the passengers as they disembark from the trains.
Don arriving back at the station with a full load of passengers and Frank Smoley is his conductor at the rear watching over everyone. The Public Run is over, the lines of passengers are all gone and Robbi talks with Ted.
Robbi tries to hide from me behind Ted as she doesn't want her picture taken. Just all the more reason I would try to take a picture of her, here we have it, Robbi Haines.
