Work Session - 6/03/09

Ken Brooks was repairing the old grass cutting deck from our riding mower as Rick Nagy stops to talk to him. We got another used rider mower and Ken is trying to make one work out of the two.
Don Speidel got out his riding car to fit it out with an air tank for train brakes. In our Switch Building Shed Ted Nyland was busy building a wye for our new yard.
George Metts was checking out the voltages on the engine as Don walked in front of the camera. After dumping more ballast on the crossovers we installed before, Lew Fowler watches FranK Foti do a clean sweep of the tracks.
The ballast settled since we last worked on the crossings and the track needs leveling. Lew watches as Rick cleans the ballast from between the rail and the guardrail.
Lew tamps the ballast between the ties as Rick continues to clean out the ballast from between the rails. It's looking good with the ballast tamped and swept from the top of the ties.
Lew helps Ron Trenhale change the switch throw to this side of the track for the remote actuator. Jerry Bell has just put in the intermediate support tie for the rod to the switch stand control which is in the foreground.
