Work Session - 6/08/2011

Rick Nagy and Dick Clark are positioning the switch panel to the run-out track for the new spur to Hilton as John Koontz and Bob Pakeltis watch. The yard lead that merges with the Main Line above Gulch is getting its own signal so you can legally enter this block segment of the Main Line from the Stanek Car Barn yard.
Frank Foti installed this signal mast and is trenching between the signal switch post to this mast. After marking the rail, Dick is cutting the aluminum rail with the portable DeWalt saw.
With the track panel lifted out of place after the saw cuts were made, Rick is scraping out the ballast for the switch panel to drop in. Rick, Dick and John are looking at the track that is over the culvert which needs to be leveled.
Dave Foster brought his power washer out to the track and is washing down the club engine and cars. The power washing continues as he works his way from the engine to the riding cars.
Oops, missed a spot on the engine! Dick was a little apprehensive that the power washer would blow off the lettering on the side of the cars, but that wasn't the case.
Dave even powerwashed the wooden straddle passenger cars with good results and no damage. Last car getting the attention and the power washer (and Dave) did a good job.
See Dick, the lettering has stayed intact. Paul Zorko checking up on the progress Frank is making and you can see that the wire has been installed and the mast head is closed up with the lenses in place.
A closeup of the masthead that Frank made, which only needs the shields over the lenses. Bill Deptowicz drilled the Park engine rear steps for a foot peg by adding an angle and bolting it in place ready for the foot peg to be installed.
