Work Session - 6/10/09

Wally Pausch, Rick Nagy on the work train and George Woodling were dressing up the ballast for our Open Meet that is coming up. George and Rick by Thorn which is behind the station continue with dressing up the track.
George and Wally added a couple of wooden ties between the steel channel ties that we used for our new crossovers. Mark Ross was wiring the new charge jack harness to the battery on the club engine.
Bill Deptowicz drilled the frame and mounted a charge/battery test jack on the side of the club engine. Orchard Yard was getting attention from Lew Fowler, Wayne Garrish and George on the broom.
Wally, George and Wayne working on the ballast on the Orchard Yard lead. Paul Emch and Ken Brooks conferring on the next task to mount the air cylinder in the bottom of Don Speidel's car.
Dave brought a charger for the club engine's battery and is checking out the status of the charge on the digital display. A tenative layout of the switches leading to our new car storage facility.
Back at the station Jerry Bell was cleaning out the gutters that were filled with the maple tree spinner seeds. While up there Jerry pruned back some of the branches that were rubbing on the roof shingles.
Ron Trenhaile and Jerry were installing another remote switch stand on the Branch Line after supper. The linkage had to cross under the track to get to the other side because the stand had to be reached from two converging tracks.(See prior photo)
Ron kept adjusting the throw to get the proper action at the switch points. Lew was checking the throw at his end and you can see the switch conjestion and the control rod at the lower right in the picture for the switch beside Lew.
