Because we didn't get the lift done and in place Dave Foster brought one of the lift rail sections to bridge over the gap between the yard tracks and the storage barn. It worked except for the heaviest engine.
Here Don Speidel and Paul Emch do yard duty in pulling out and shuttling cars to make up the trains that the members will pull for the run. Ethan and his Dad, John Deptowicz putting together the Snoopy engine and will soon couple the riding cars on to make up their train.
Frank Foti has East Wind up on the steaming bay and ready for Roy Harris to do the annual boiler test. Linda Harris watches as Chet Roberts prepares his engine for the test as Ken Vendlinger and Lew Fowler watch the proceedings.
One of the first trains out of the station for our public run today and Chet has that confident look after having his engine pass the boiler test earlier. Judson Elliott behind the GP38 at Hemlock with a fully loaded consist waves to the photographer.
Coming out of the yard to make his obligatory shakedown run before hauling passengers is Mike Harkleroad with George Metts Camelback steam engine. Dick Clark with his SW15000 switcher coming into the station.
Skip Frank with his circus train loaded with passengers is on the final leg of his run coming in behind the station. Ted Nyland sitting side saddle on his interurban also at the end of his run as he comes into the station to unload.
East Wind passed her boiler test and you can see the coals in her firebox glowing with Frank at the controls and John Blotnick as conductor. Ken Vendlinger coming into the station with his load of happy riders.
Ethan and Edith Hacker share a happy moment behind the station during the run. A view from the station doorway towards the loading area with our newly installed brick pavers in place.
Chet blows his whistle as he departs the station as John pulls the Snoopy train to a stop to load riders. Roy Harris giving instructions to the riders before John leaves the station.
Mike tops off his water as his passengers patiently wait for the Camelback to start its' next run. As Skip pulls into the loading area, Ted opens the throttle on his pair of interurbans at the start of his run.
Behind the station on the Orchard Loop Josh Frank as engineer is taking some guests for a ride with Georges' gas powered military switcher. Chet's thinking the fires O.K. and the water gauge level is O.K., just need to hear "All Aboard!" from Roy to start this run.
Jerry Bell is giving Ted a break and taking the next load of passengers on the interurbans for their ride. John releases the brakes on the Snoopy train and slowly moves away from the loading area as he gains speed.
John as engineer waits for Roy to finish rider instructions before he moves his train. Frank with a trainload of passengers cracks the throttle as East Wind moves out with the chuffing sound of a engine hardly working.
Ken prepares to sound his horn at the beginning of his next run as he waits for Roy. A low angle shot of East Wind and Frank at the water and air station across from the loading area.
Mike coasts to a stop as Dicks' trainload of passengers with Scott Hewis as conductor leave the station. Snoopy with Woodstock on the roof of the engine depart with another load of passengers.
Skip is about to start his next run with his train laoded and Ken on his engine behind him gives a wave. Edith, Dick, John and Mike at the station after having unloaded their passengers.
Mike in front of the station checking the conditions and gauges of the Camelback as he waits to pull ahead and be loaded. The run is over and the photographer, Bill Deptowicz, is trying to hitch a ride on the Snoopy train that his grandson Ethan was engineer of and got a big kick out of it.
At the end of this run Ethan was happy with his Dad taking this picture of him giving Grampa a ride out on the mainline. Frank explains questions from a guest as he fires East Wind after the run with our two way running.
Lets see, if Mike is five foot six that would make Amy Deptowicz three foot..No, No, I've got it wrong, Mike is more like six foot six. Ken Brooks with his electric cab with Don as they pass through the station.
