Work Session - 6/13/2012

Dick Clark connects the air brakes between cars as Hal Seiler watches Frank Foti push Dick's control car to the end of the yard. Paul Zorko has joined the group and with Hal, they watch as Dick completes making the connections.
Well the Park engine now sports a new hydraulic oil filter, new hoses, a new hydraulic pump and the pump mount to the gas engine. Dick uses his engine to transfer the ballast car from the Stanek Car Barn over to the work engine storage shed.
Wayne is working on the shift lever linkage control horn that transfers the linear motion of the rods from one side of the engine to the other to get to the hydraulic pump control arm. A close-up view of the top of the pump and the universal with the spicer.
Wayne and Joe Banzer work to get the linkage from the control arm to the pump as Judson Elliott watches. With all the connections made Dave Foster, sitting astride the control car, is going to take the engine for a test run. Hark! it moves under its own power as Dave backs out to the end of the yard.
Of course you've got to test it with a load so Dave, Wayne and Lew Fowler go along for the ride and the engine looks like it's smoking a bit burning off excess oil from being worked on.
As Dave starts back down the grade into the yard Wayne looks over the engine seeing if he can discern where the smoke is coming from. The engine doesn't look to be smoking that much right now so maybe it was just oil on the muffler.
