25th Annual Open Meet - 6/15/13


Steve Robertson from Michigan brought his propane fired Sweet William steam engine and that's his friend Rob standing behind the engine. A side view of Sweet William with Dick Philpott looking things over.
Bob Beardslee looking back over his shoulder to check the mainline as he pulls out from the Orchard Yard behind the station. Larry coming around the sweeping bend with Alan riding behind their switcher as they head towards Shoe and the Covered Bridge.
Larry just about to pass through the Clyde Bleil Covered Bridge as they make their run West towards Zip Junction and Horrendous. Bob having just passed over Cider Bridge is nearing the end of his run as he heads back towards the station with his passengers.
Claire Foster rides on the front of grandpa Dave's speeder with her parents Erin and Jeff Foster riding on the 2nd unit as they head for Thorn Bridge. Coming out of the Covered Bridge with his Galloping Goose is Hal Seiler as he takes the slight grade towards Zip Junction.
Bob Craig riding on his version of the Galloping Goose departs the Covered Bridge as he heads points West with his passenger. Ken Vendlinger making the grade from the Lionel Bridge on the Branch Line as he heads towards Summit.
A view of the action at the station during the day with riders getting ready to depart and others arriving with some just sitting at the tables just having a good conversation. Ken slowly coming into the station at the end of another run with some passengers.
Arriving back at the station is Ted and Marie Nyland on their pair of electric powered interurban's as they near the end of their run. Larry just arriving back at the station with a wave from Judy Oscker and Alan on the rear of the train.
While Larry waits for his train to finish loading, Richard Sales and Marty Pinkston pulled in on track two, eastbound through the station. Scott Hewis gives a wave to the photographer as he pulls into the station, running eastbound with his Southern Pacific engine.
Marty Ferestad of NEOLS adds coal to the fire box of his American steam engine in front of the station. Hal departs the station with his speeder's and a pair of riding cars loaded with passengers as he heads out westbound.
Dave Foster at the controls of the club's GP 38 as he heads out of the station westbound with a trainload of family and friends. Sandi Foster smiles for the photographer as she passes by riding in the conductors chair as the train slowly gains speed, leaving the station.
Marty and his wife Jean depart the station with his American steam locomotive as he opens the throttle and moves out of the siding towards the main line. Steve and Bonnie Zaken pull into the station with their electric powered box cab engine and are all smiles.
Frank Foti with his Pacific steam engine, East Wind, has just dumped ashes and is about the depart with a trainload of youngsters. Don Speidel talks to Rex Shriver,riding on the train, as Frank Smoley adds air to Don's brake system.
Don with his train loaded, departs the station with his SWS 6 painted for the New York Central Railroad. Steve rumbles into the station with his Sweet William and his friend Rob riding behind him.
Rob at the controls of the Sweet William departs the station passing by the switch to Short on the mainline with Steve riding behind. At Hilton, I caught the Snoopy train with Ethan Deptowicz at the controls with his friend and his dad John, riding behind and soon they will be rumbling over the Branch Line crossing.
Back at the station we see Dave Foster's speeder's in the background on one of the siding's while East Wind, Ron Trenhaile's F7PH and Bob's Galloping Goose are on other sidings in the Orchard Yard. Rob exits the Covered Bridge with Steve and Dave riding behind as he ascends the slight grade up towards Zip Junction.
John Deptowicz at the controls of his Snoopy train has just passed through Zip Junction and soon will be passing over Cider Bridge with Austin Tapolyai riding behind him. A view of Bob Craig's riding car that he made out of solid oak wood instead of plywood.

The crew of attendees and members line up, getting ready to fill their plates and to enjoy the company and conversations of the evening. A view of the items on the raffle tables as many of the attendees who had finished eating wait for the raffle to start. A good time was had by all.
