LSLS Open Meet - 6/19/10 Part I


Steve Zaken was selling his tools and Dick Clark, Roy Harris and Chet Roberts were looking over the goodies as Steve is a retired machinist. Sean Roberts brought his SD45 diesel to the run and is slowing for the station traffic.
Marty Pinkston brought his Cli-Shay that he scratch-built and has since re-boilered it to a conventional vertical boiler. Jeff Stanek coming into the station with the clubs' GP38.
Richard Sales had a novel flat car load as it was one of the engines that he builds for sale. Skip Frank talking with his grandson, Josh Frank, before he leaves the station.
A little later on I caught Skip and Josh passing through Fern on their way to cross Justin Time Bridge. Judson Elliott and his wife Beverly at Fern with Steve Zakens' boxcab engine.
Ken Vendlinger is obviously out of control as he doesn't have his hands on the steering wheel of the engine. Andy Yedlick, a member from Texas, riding behind Dave Foster on his pair of speeders.

Bob Beardslee has the front of his smokebox off to clean the flues on his Pennsylvania Switcher. Mark and Carmen Reigle from Sycamore, OH brought this switcher, gon, and caboose to our event.
Ted Nyland brought his American he has under construction for a boiler test and it basks in the sun by the new turntable. Logan leaving the station with John Deptowicz riding behind him on the Snoopy train.

Ken Brooks having alot more fun since he changed his batteries over to gell cells and is getting alot more run time. Richard sales checking out a new body style for engines that he is making for sale looks like a GP7.

The electric cab that George Davidson, now deceased, scratch-built that Ken Brook now owns which he repainted and lettered. Somebody dropped a piece of coal out of their tender alongside of the track...I didn't know that we had full size equipment running on our tracks.

Ken as he approaches the signal post at Hemlock will have to wait for a clear signal before he can aquire the yellow signal. Josh Frank with Skip behind him, just cleared the signal for the block he is leaving thus the white light showing.

The station being the hub of the activities and the conversatoin will flow as the congestion starts to build with incoming traffic. Traffic thins as the trains are shuttled around.
