Work Session - 7/01/09

Steve Zaken, John Koontz, Wally Pausch and Rick Nagy were tamping the ballast when I arrived on this rainy morning. Ken Brooks and Bill Deptowicz making up a track panel on the work table.
Ken straightening the ties at the panel joints of the track as Rick and John oversee his work. Dick Clark marking the rails that need to be cut to splice in the switch panel.
Took a look at what the guys got accomplished last work session for the covered bridge foundations. They managed to dig out for the two end foundations of the bridge abutments.
Dick and Ken exchange ideas about the trackwork as Rick bolts the rail connections to the switch. Wally and Rick work on changing the switch throw to the other side.
Rick and Lew Fowler working on the rail clip connections. Lew, Ken and Dick laying out the switch panels to see what will work best.
Wally and Lew bolt in a section of rail between switches. Edith Hacker digging a trench for water runoff control as Ron Trenhaile works on the switch linkage in the old yard.
With the switch panels connected together you can see the track progress for track #4 to the new storage shed. At the covered bridge site Karl Losely and Jerry Bell start digging for the center bridge foundation.
After all the rain we have had lately it's a muddy job. Jerry, Bill and Karl are digging out the hole for the foundation as Edith and Ron watch from the background and with Rick to the right.
