7.10.05 Public Run

It looks like we have a good turnout of members for the public run today. Most have finished the lunch that Robbi Haines has prepared for us and are socializing before the run begins.
George Metts brought his electric powered Scrappy, ever a favorite with the kids. Joe Laskowski brought his Bangor & Western electric powered interurban.
A view of Joe's train sitting on the siding at the station. George Davidson has his electric cab unit which has a golf cart motor for power.

A low front on view of Georges' engine shows the chain drive to the front axle. The front face of Scrappy was carved out of a piece of cedar by Skip Frank then sealed and painted.

Rex Shriver brought his electric switcher and the crew are standing out of the hot cab waiting for the run to begin. Paul Emch and Frank Russell taking our mandatory train checkout ride.

Dave Schweitzer with his gas powered engine is just leaving the station. Rex is waiting for Roger Harnish to depart the station so his train can be loaded.
Marcel looking over his shoulder to check if his conductor has given him the "all aboard". Skip is in the station for his next load of passengers and Roy Harris is giving the riders instructions.
Paul Emch is on the Conrail train with loaded cars about to depart the station. Two of the three interurbans in the club can be seen in this photo with Ted Nyland on the lead unit.

Dave Foster on his newly completed speeder and riding car heads out on the mainline. Jerry Bell and Roger wait at the station for Roy to load their trains.

Jerry made a face at me but when I got the camera ready he wouldn't look at me. Bill Deptowicz and the club engine with Frank Russell as conductor at the station.
Frank and Bill on the club train and Louis DeLembo as conductor on adjacent train. This is how far they have gotten on the excavating of the pond.
From the back side of the pond it looks pretty deep. Standing in the center it appears to be about five feet below the access road but the water won't get that high.
