NMRA Invitational Run - 7/15/14

The Lake Shore Live Steamers hosted a group of conventioneers that were attending the National Model Railroad Association Convention in downtown Cleveland. The conventioneers were on a tour of the 1/8 scale railroads today and stopped by at our club grounds by bus a little before 3 PM.
We showed them around our grounds and our equipment and in this view Dick Clark is getting ready to take a trainload of conventioneers on a ride behind his SW1500 diesel engine. Ken Brooks is taking a trainload of passengers with the club's GP38 as he heads out of the siding towards the mainline.
Scott Hewis prepares his AS616 Baldwin diesel which is battery-powered for his next run with his load of conventioneers. Scotty looks back over his shoulder to check the loading and he's ready to go.
Here I photographed Dick Clark passing through Pandora on his way towards Shoe and the Covered Bridge. Ken Brooks with his passengers as he rumbles over the our Big Bend Bridge which is 120 feet long.
Scott with his passengers, as they give a wave, coming off the Big Bend Bridge as he takes the curve into Pandora. Ken just coming off the Justin Tyme Bridge will soon be rumbling over the Park Access Road grade crossing on his way up to Mackey's Run.
Caught Scott as he traverses Patty's Rock Bridge before he assaults the grade up through Gulch towards High Creek which is a 3 1/2+ percent grade. Dick running on the Branch Line as he crosses the two mainline tracks at Filmor with his passengers.
Ken having passed through Horrendous starts down grade towards Filmor as he passes the water tank with his riders. Scott with another load of riders as he passes over the Park Access Road on the mainline as he approaches Drudgery.
Ken has just left the station with his passengers and they are passing by the elevated steaming bays as they run on the mainline. Dick Clark seated and Scott Hewis in the black shirt answered questions and enjoyed the conversation with the conventioneers.
Mike Harkleroad brought out the Camelback which he was previously having problems with and it continued to create a problem for him so he wound up not running. Well he tried, but he dropped the fires and let the steam engine cool off.
