7.15.07 Public Run

Al with boom mic capturing some of the sounds of railroading at the station. Rex and Ken at the station with their electric powered trains waiting to load passengers.
Frank coming off Big Bend Bridge with "Eastwind" with a plume of exhaust from the stack. Don at the station with passengers loaded and Bill Besselman as conductor.
Dave leaving the station at the start of another run. Dick about to head out on the mainline just as soon as Roger finishes giving the passengers their riding instructions.
Robbi who is loading trains in foreground and the riders as they wait in line for the trains. Karl just pulled into the station with the Hudson to unload his passengers.
Right to left, Bill Besselman as conductor with Ted Nyland behind him on the interurbans, Dave Harnish on the grade wall and Bob Beardslee with his switcher. The line of riders waiting for the trains as they come in.
A view of the line from the steaming bay but today it moved along pretty good. Ted enjoys the interurbans more since he converted them over to electric power from the gas motor he had before.
While waiting in line with Dave's speeders I caught Edith Hacker in the lens heading for the unloading area. Bill Besselman walked by to spread some humor and break the tedium of our wait.
Roger has Frank all loaded as Skip adds coal to his tender. Bill Bodemer counting passengers with his daughter Julie Snyder beside him, watch the activity of loading and unloading the trains as they come in.
Don coming into the station as Ted, Dick and Rick wait for the trains ahead to move up and load as Edith handles the unloading of passengers. Bob pulling into the station is all smiles.
Skip watches Frank as he blows the whistle and opens the throttle on "Eastwind". Railhead view of Skip's "Lynn" being loaded by Roger.
Ted with his interurbans loaded starts moving as Ken moves his Reading train up. In keeping with the theme of the run today, Snakes-n-Such, Bob Liester brought over a black rat snake that was over three feet long.
To see if the snake was friendly I held out my hand to him as I took pictures with the other hand...Mikey likes me. Hey Robbi, could you give me a hand or I could let you hold him for a while.
Bob who volunteers for the Park said he understands that the snake used to bite when the Park acquired him three years ago but now is used to the handling. Bob held him up to show the snake coiled around his hand.
The run is over and some of the trains head for the storage barn but Frank will run his engine for a while. George Metts with his boxcab is heading to the loading area.
