Public Run - 7/20/14


Paul Zorko has loaded his caboose on the transfer table and now is moving his engine on the transfer table with the help of Ron Trenhaile. Ken Brooks checks the throw of the switch he will soon be using to get his train down to the mainline.
Paul connects the safety chains and the air line hoses for his brakes as he makes up his train. Richard Sales is getting his train ready and takes time out to talk to Dick Clark who is sitting on the bench.
Rick Nagy departs with the club's GP38 on his first run with his passengers behind him. Dick Clark advances the shifting lever and his engine starts to move away from the station and Lew Fowler is his conductor as Joe Vasko pulls up to load.
Joe departs the station with his B&O switcher and his passengers as Mike Harkleroad pulls up to the loading area with the Camelback steam locomotive. Rick pouts for the photographer as he pulls away from the station with a trainload of passengers and Dave Woldman is his conductor.
Paul Zorko as he crosses in front of the steaming bays as he heads down the mainline on his first run. Dick as he nears the end of his run after having passed over Festival Bridge will shortly be back at Shriver Station.
Ken Brooks takes the mainline switch for the loop on the back side of the station as he to nears the end of his run. Richard Sales has just passed by Shoe as he heads towards the Covered Bridge with his train.
Don Speidel is on the grade between the Covered Bridge as he heads towards Zip Junction with his smiling passengers. Ron Malinowski as he passes through Zip Junction will soon be rumbling over Cider Bridge.
Dick having just passed through the Truss Bridge will soon be going over the grade crossing and taking the grade up to Mackey's Run. Ken was next to come by at the same location with his train which is electric powered.
Joe Vasko was the next to pass through the same location and he has Dick Schmidt as his conductor on the rear. Next to come by was Don Speidel running his SW9 as he to heads for the grade crossing and Mackey's Run.
Next to come by was Paul Zorko and look at the smiles on his passengers as they rumble through the Truss Bridge. Dick as he rumbles over Bridge No. 6 at the bottom of the grade by Hilde Hill as he heads for Fern.
Kenny was the next to come down the grade as he passed over the same Bridge No. 6 on his way towards Fern and the Truss Bridge. Coming down the grade from Hilton, Joe has just passed through Gulch as he descends the grade.
A few minutes later Ron showed up at the same location with his passengers as he headed for Hilde Hill. As Rick keeps the engine speed in check a few of the passengers wave to the photographer as the train approaches Gulch.
Don as he rumbled over the crossing for the Branch Line at Hilton with the unmistakable clickety-clack of the wheels on the crossings' steel rail. Paul's trainload of passengers give a wave as the engine is about the pass over the Big Wash Bridge as they head towards Hilton.
Don on his way through Horrendous as he heads towards Zip Junction with his passengers. Harry Tabor has taken over as engineer of the GP38 and has just passed by Short on his way towards Drudgery.
Dick Clark leaving the station as his train gains speed and that's Ron Malinowski at the loading area as passengers board his train. Ron departing the station and in the background in the white shirt is Greg Guy who was loading the trains.
Here's Richard and I think he's trying to tell me that he saw Moose out in the woods too! What else would it mean? A view of the line of the public that's waiting to ride the trains with Joe waiting for Greg to give him the all aboard so he can move his train.
Jen Zorko took over as engineer of her dad's train to give him a break and here she passes over the grade crossing as she travels from Horrendous to Zip Junction. Paul as he rumbles over the grade crossing for the Park Access Road near Zip Junction.
Richard with his trainload of passengers as he enters into the Covered Bridge after passing through Shoe. Joe as he emerges from the Covered Bridge takes the slight grade up to Zip Junction.
Harry emerges from the Covered Bridge with a full trainload of passengers and Dave as his conductor on the rear. Richard having passed through Zip Junction is on his way toward Cider Bridge as he nears the end of his run.
John tops off the air pressure for his brakes on his train as Paul leaves on his next run with his passengers under the watchful eye of Greg at the loading area. Bill Besselman, standing, talks with some riders as they arrived back at the station with Jerry Bell sitting in front of them.
