Public Run

Super Star Party run for us started at 8 pm with Robbi Haines loading the trains. Roger Harnish as he pulled into the station with his train and is waiting to move up and load passengers.
Paul Emch leaving the station with passengers as Dick Clark waits to load riders. Dick checks air pressure while Kitty Shriver (seated with back to the station) keeps the rider count and Robbi finishes loading the riders on Dick's train.
Amy Deptowicz is conductor for Dick's train as they leave the station. The smoke from Roger's steam engine gives the fog-like quality to this picture as Ted Nyland starts his next run with his interurbans.
Richard Sales waits for the "All Aboard" from Robbi as Roger's engine headlight glows from behind. Rex Shriver stands by his train as Roger checks his train and Ken Brooks waits for passengers to finish loading.
As Ken starts his run the cloud cover looks threatening for rain. It is starting to sprinkle and note the styrofoam cup in the exhaust stack of George Mett's Toby and John Deptowicz has a plastic bag over Woodstock and Snoopy on his engine.
John leaves the station and a lite mist of rain is falling, maybe it will blow over. Bob Beardslee moves his train up to the loading area for passengers.
Dan Burnett of the Park system just informed the public of the severe weather coming our way and for them to seek shelter at the Nature Center. Boy did it rain, Roger and Rex watch as Kitty sweeps the torrent of water coming up to the door sill.
Just a few of the trains that were still out running when the bad weather hit and the engineers and riders really got wet. Rails were slippery and the 3%+ grade at Gulch was a bear to climb with loaded trains.
Skip Frank's engine with safety lifting in the rain, which caught in the camera flash looks like snow. Look at the water around Bob's engine as the rain continues.
Standing under a tree taking a picture of the members as Pam Znidar takes one of me...Are we having fun yet? When you're stuck in the station what else but make popcorn, at least the coffee was hot.
Ethan and his wet dad, John Deptowicz, who was caught with the Snoopy train still out on the track when it poured. Bill Deptowicz the club photographer enjoying his grandson Ethan. All that's left is to put away wet equipment.
