Public Run - 8/10/14


Skip Frank and his grandson Josh Frank steam up the only steam engine we will have running for today's run. Rick Nagy is engineer on the GP38 for the start of this run with Judy Oscker as his conductor.
Dick Clark increases the throttle on his gas engine, a SW1500 diesel replica as he starts his first run. John Koontz running the Park's engine leaves the station with Frank Smoley as his conductor on the rear.
Richard Sales leaving the station with his electric powered cab unit. Behind the station Josh Frank was taking a guest around on the inner loop with George Metts military engine.
Ron Malinowski with his train on the curve that leads into Shriver Station with his three passengers. Paul Zorko has just come off the Big Bend Bridge and passed through Pandora on his way towards Shoe and the Covered Bridge.
Following some distance behind, Rick approaches Pandora with his passengers as he heads for the Covered Bridge. Ron as he approaches the end of the Big Bend Bridge which is 120 feet long.
Skip with his steamer "Lynn" is about at the midpoint of the span of the Big Bend Bridge with hardly any exhaust from Lynn. Next to come by was Dick with his passengers as he rumbled over the wooden deck bridge.
Last week it wasn't there and this week it is, must be one big eagle to build a nest that big and he built it alongside of the Big Bend Bridge. After taking a picture the nest, John running on the adjacent track passed by me on the bridge.
Richard having passed through Mackey's Run is on his way to Big Bend Bridge. Paul passes by with his passengers at Mackey's Run as he to heads for the Big Bend Bridge.
Rick rumbling over the crossing for the Park Access Drive as he heads up the grade towards Mackey's Run. Ken running our newly acquired switcher has just passed through Fern on his way towards the Truss Bridge.
Ron having coasted down the hill from Hilton has just passed through Fern. Skip Frank crossing over Bridge No. 6 at the bottom of the grade by Hilde Hill with his smiling load of passengers.
Richard coasting down the grade has just passed Gulch on his way towards Hilde Hill and Fern. Dick at the bottom of the grade from Filmor having passed over Gulch Bridge will start to ascend the grade up to High Creek.
Next to come by was John with Frank on the rear as his conductor as they passed over Gulch Bridge and will soon be ascending the grade with his passengers. Taken from the inside of the curve, Richard came by with his passengers at the same location.
Paul running with a fairly light load of passengers is at the same location on the Gulch Bridge. A distant shot of the GP 38 with Rick at the controls as he nears the top of the grade at High Creek.
Ron with his train will soon be passing by High Creek on his way towards Horrendous. Ken as he passes over the Big Wash Bridge will soon start the grade down to Fern.
Paul having passed through Hemlock as he heads towards Hilton with his passengers riding on his Fireball Express. Paul as he passes through Drudgery with his Nickel Plate Road switcher engine, a SW9.
Back at the station Dick departs with another trainload of passengers as Ron pulls up to load his train. Ron starts rolling as Paul walks by towards the station.
With Paul waiting to have his train loaded, John with the Park engine advances the throttle as the big engine starts moving. With Paul's train loaded, he advances the throttle and the Fireball Express moves out on its next run.
Anna Zorko and her daughter Jen Zorko were assisting with the unloading as the trains arrived back at the station and here Jen is giving a wave to the photographer. Bill Besselman who is counting our passengers today, looks over to Rex and Kitty Shriver with Bonnie Zaken in the background.
Ken with his passengers loaded on his train is departing the station as Paul moves up with his NKP switcher to take on another load of riders. Harry Tabor starts another run with his passengers with Judy Oscker on as his conductor.
Ron with his electric powered switcher having been loaded by Greg is about to start his run. Ken leaves the station on his next run as Greg waits for another train to arrive to load with passengers and it was a great day.
