8.11.07 Club Run

Frank Foti brought his Pacific engine to Clyde's place and is just moving it off the turntable. Chan Bleil sitting astride a Hudson that a Joe Grof recently bought that hasn't been run in years.
Rick Nagy watches as Dick Clark makes adjustments to the throttle cable. Marty Pinkston double heads with Richard Sales blue engine in front as both are electric powered but with different drive systems.
A gentleman and his wife were driving by with their 1914 restored Model T that has a Tangley Calliaphone, better known as a Calliope to many, mounted in the rear of the restored truck.
He was in need of some tools to tighten up the muffler which had worked loose so we were treated to the beautiful songs played via roll music. You can just see the Honda powered generator behind the license plate hanging below the floor boards.
The generator powers a blower mounted behind the passengers seat and the blower only develops 1/2 pound of pressure to play the Calliope. After the muffler had cooled it was tightened up and they were on their way again.
In the back meadow I was following behind Joe Grof and his Hudson as it crossed the low bridge. As the Hudson crossed over a short section at the end of the bridge the steel truss just sagged due to the weight of the engine and the rusty top chord.
Since it was just a short span from the main bridge to the support pier the guys just blocked the truss up so we could continue to run. Joe Grof with the Hudson coming into the station.
The run was well attended between the club members and friends and family of Clyde and Chan Bleil. Frank walking beside Eastwind as the engine moves toward the turntable.
After dropping the fire I got this picture of Eastwind during the blowdown to vent the steam. The Hudson was running better but it still has some problems to be worked on but is a great looking engine.
Marcel Uhrich is at the controls of his dad's Boxcab electric as Marty loads his train. It looks like Marty is all set to roll.
Dick Clark pulls into the station before Marty moves his train. Bill Deptowicz, the club photographer, gets into a picture even if he has to share the spotlight with his grandson, Ethan Deptowicz.
John, Amy and Ethan Deptowicz in a passenger car in the back meadow. Back at the station some of the elders have gathered to talk about the "big" engines that got away. Did you think they would talk about fish?
It was good to see Harold Sicherman, a charter member, able to get around and attend this run. Rex Shriver was taking it easy and enjoying the "elder" conversation they had going.
Ray Tomorowitz caught napping and that's Kitty Shriver beside him. George Davidson, Emily Kutscher and Clyde Bleil are caught in conversation.
Amy Deptowicz and her son Ethan prior to the start of the club meeting. A view of the executive board, seated around the table, getting ready to start the meeting.
A view of some of the members that had taken seats for the meeting from behind the executive officers. Marty leaving the station going out for a run after the meeting.
Chan talks with Dick at the station before Dick's next run. Richard Sales standing by his engine which is on the siding going to the loading/unloading area and another run at Clydes enters the history book.
