Public Run - 8/12/2012

Logan Tapolyai on the left, watches as Bill Besselman and Scott Hewis are in conversation as Scott's train starts to be loaded by Linda Harris. Ken Brooks as engineer of his train waits for Linda to complete the riding instructions to the passengers on his train.
Wayne Boron in the striped shirt watches over the proceedings as Judson Elliott advances the throttle on his electric powered engine and slowly moves away from from the station. Paul Emch smiles sitting astride his Nickel Plate Railroad Hudson locomotive as he gains speed with his next run.
The weatherman said we may expect rain and Rex Shriver's fully prepared for any as he departs the station with his electric switcher and its plastic covering. John Koontz with the club's GP38 at Zip Junction is about to pass over the grade crossing across the Park's access road with Lew Fowler on the rear of the train as his conductor.
Ken waves as he approaches Zip Junction from the opposite direction, coming from Horrendous and in a few short minutes will be back at the station. The always smiling Ken Vendlinger rumbles out of the Covered Bridge with his electric switcher and gives a wave to the photographer.
Paul emerging from the covered bridge with his load of passengers as he heads towards Zip Junction with his Hudson and the approximate halfway point of the ride. Following a few minutes later, Dick Clark comes out of the tunnel with his gas powered SW1500 as he heads for Zip Junction and Horrendous.
Next coming through the covered bridge was Skip Frank with his smooth running Columbia engine which is a real good steamer. Paul Zorko with his Morris engine is about to enter the covered bridge and that's his daughter Jennifer Legan as his conductor riding the rear car.
Richard Sales with his laid-back engineer car as he rumbles off our wooden Big Bend Bridge as he heads for Pandora and points west. It seems we had a guest that tried to cross the bridge also in the form of a black rat snake that was about 3 1/2 to 4 feet long.
The snake kept poking its head down in between the ties to see were the bridge abutment was so I stayed and made sure that he didn't get run over by a train. Scott's train was the next one to come along but by then the snake had disappeared through the boards to safety.
Kenny with his trainload of passengers as he's about to clear the end of the bridge where it meets the embankment of dirt. Judson at the same location with his passengers who look like they're thoroughly enjoying the ride.
Dick having passed through Pandora on his way to Shoe and the covered bridge and that's Judy Oscker as his conductor riding on the rear car. Back at the station, Paul's train was being loaded with passengers as George Metts, Anna Zorko and Bonnie Zaken relax in chairs and watch the activities.
Jennifer Legan riding in the conductors position for her dad's train is giving a smile for the photographer upon request as the train begins to move out of the station. Good thing were not letting George count the riders today as I think he's resting his eyes by sitting in a chair and relaxing.
Bill Deptowicz at the controls of the Snoopy train is about to depart the station with his train load of passengers, as he gives his son John a break from running the train so he can stretch his legs. Linda has just loaded Kenny's train with his passengers and he departs for points West as Scott at left checks over his train.
Scott nudges the throttle of the big engine and it starts moving along pulling the train and it's full load of passengers as he departs the station. Rex coming into the station with his passengers at mile marker 5 which is just before the station and approximately 5/8 of a actual mile from the point of departure of the ride.
Bill running the Snoopy train in a panned shot as he comes in on the loop behind the station as he nears the end of his run. Bill Besselman was our counter of passengers today and he executed his duty faithfully keeping track of passengers and checking that there weren't any purses or diaper bags that projected away from the car that could snag anything along the track during the ride.
Paul departs the station with his load of passengers that Jerry Bell and Linda has loaded while Dick waits for his train to be loaded as its getting overcast. Kenny pulled up and relaxes while waiting for Jerry to finish loading Dick and his SW1500 powered train which will be the next unit out of the station.
Kenny's departing the station with only one passenger for this trip as he heads out to the mainline and will be heading for Gooseneck, Short and points West with our other Kenny behind him waiting for his train to be loaded. Paul's having a good laugh about something as he moves his Nickel Plate Road Morris switcher out from the station on down the mainline.
The end of the line is near and Kenny looks happy as he pulls away from the station with his load of passengers which will probably be the next to last engine out of the station with the public riding as passengers. Skip with his steam engine Lynn picks up the last of the passengers and heads out of the station.
John Deptowicz with his Snoopy train and Austin Tapolyai with two more riders departs the station and the rain has held off. Josh Frank is it the controls of grandpa Skip's steam engine Lynn as he passes through the station on his way around for another trip.
Ethan Deptowicz running the "Scrappy" engine, that belongs to George Metts, on the Orchard Loop behind the station and having a barrel of fun. Dick coming into the station running light after the public run.
Logan Tapolyai pulls into the station with the Snoopy train with John and family members riding behind him as he nears the end of this trip. Josh at the controls of the "Scrappy" engine as he heads for the steaming bays to load the train on a trailer at the end of another successful run.
