Public Run - 8/15/10


With Dave Foster as passenger counter, Dick Mackey and Robbi Haines loaded trains and Richard Sales is ready to take his passengers for their ride. Dick answers a question as Paul Emch is about to move his train at the start of this run.
Ken Brooks looks over his shoulder and waits for the all clear so that he can move his train out on the main line. Rex Shriver acting as a pessimist thinks we will be getting rain and is running with his engine covered just in case.
Jerry Bell as engineer of the Park engine is about to start his run with a fully loaded train with John Blotnick as his conductor. As Paul Emchs' train leaves the station he is all smiles on this beautiful day.
Having just passed through Zip Junction Dick Clark will shortly arrive back at the station with his trainload of passengers. Rick Nagy on the grade at Mackey's Run will soon be rumbling over the Big Bend Bridge that is 120' long.
Richard Sales with the engine he makes passing through the Truss Bridge in his laid back engineers car. Coasting downgrade from Gulch is Ted Nyland and his pair of interurbans with his passengers at Hilde Hill.
Ken is following behind Ted with his switcher which is gas powered. Rex at Hilde Hill with his passengers and still no rain! Maybe that's what is keeping the rain away.....
Jerry coasting down the same grade with a full complement of passengers and John as his conductor. John Deptowicz on the Patty's Rock Bridge with his Snoopy train will soon assult the 3 1/2+ percent grade up to High Creek.
Rick coasting downgrade from Filmor with his complement of passengers and Cornelius Gould as Conductor. Dick having just passed through Horrendous is by the water tower and will soon be at Filmor.
Richard with another load of passengers just cleared Horrendous on his way downgrade to Filmor. Our train watcher at Horrendous is Edith Hacker who watches the trains to see if the riders are leaning out or turning around and or trying to take pictures with a cell phone which is a no-no.
Bill Deptowicz at the controls of the Snoopy train, giving his son John a break to stretch his legs, is about to leave the station. Watch it rain now as Rex has removed the cover of the engine and Karl Losely is giving Rex a break from running his train.
As Richard comes into the station you can see to good advantage his laid back engineers car. Paul slowing as he approaches the unloading area in front of the station at the end of his run.
John Koontz at the controls of the interurbans as he approaches the station from the backside of the Orchard Yard tracks. Dick rolls into the station with Lew Fowler as his conductor and soon will unload his passengers.
Bill leaving the station with the sounds of Snoopy playing through the speakers via a sound card. Karl arriving at the unloading zone as Rex watches from the bench against the station.
Paul coming into the station will soon unload and move up to get more riders. Mike Harkleroad at the controls of Richards' engine, giving Richard a break from running, as he pulls into the station.
Dick waits for the riders to unload as Bill comes into the station with the Snopy train on the adjacent track. A few minutes later Mike arrives back at the station with his charge of passengers.
John slows the train and prepares to stop in front of the station and Steve Zaken is his conductor on this trip. Dick approaches the unloading area watching for the trains ahead to move up and clear the area.
Bill comes into the station with the sounds of Snoopy still playing and Bill admits that Snoopy on the roof does the steering along the track and Bill just controls the speed and braking. Richard coming off the Big Bend Bridge.
John with the GP38 at Pandora as he heads for Shoe with his full load of passengers. John as he approaches Zip Junction and his next destination with be Horrendous.
With Logan Tapolyai as engineer of the Snoopy train he is giving the kids and Edith Hacker a ride on the Orchard Loop behind the station. Ted taking the last of the riders as the line is all gone and the run will be officially over when he returns from this run.
Ethan running the Snoopy train out on the main line after our public run with his dad behind him. Logan got to run the interurbans after the run and is now motoring them to the yard.
