Club Run - 8/17/13

Judson Elliott working by the water faucet as Paul Zorko runs through the station with his SW9 Fireball Express on this gorgeous day. Activity going on at the station as Paul backs into a siding by the station and Ken Brooks has his train parked on adjacent siding with Richard Sales just leaving the station.
Richard Sales is all smiles as he tests out a power unit in one of the riding cars behind him. Frank Foti brought out East Wind to exercise the side rods and has a string of passenger cars that he has, riding behind him.
Harry Tabor is getting checked out on running the GP38 by Rick Nagy after Rick went through a description of the different functions of the controls on the engine with Harry. As Harry and Rick ride down the mainline westbound, Dick Clark waits to take the Nyland crossing to Zip Junction.
Chet Roberts taking the switch to Branch Line from the Main Line at Drudgery with his scratch built box cab unit that he's testing out. Judson with his stretched out version of a Plum Cove box cab unit using a scratch built frame and their motor drives and control board as he throws the switch to back into the station siding.
Dave Cryor at the controls of Steve Zaken's engine with Steve riding behind him as he passes by Drudgery eastbound towards the station. Lew Fowler and Bonnie Zaken relaxing on a car in the yard adjacent to the Willis Car Barn.
I helped Ron Trenhaile take the cover off of his engine and this shows the forward part with his bell, horn and a blower for cooling the electronics that's mounted up in the nose. Ron with his engine and the cover back on, sitting on the transfer table.
Chet with Wayne Boron riding along in the gon stop and talk to Ken adjacent to the ash pit for the steamers. As Chet and Ken converse, Chris Cooper pulls up behind with his train as Harry, Rick and Dave Foster sit on the club's train.
Back at the station Edith Hacker talks to Bob Beardslee, who just pulled in with his's Pennsylvania steam engine switcher as Bonnie Zaken walks by. Ken, Paul Zorko and Wayne watch as Dave works on the side frame of the truck to loosen it up because the bolster was binding.
Dave has filed the side frame to give the bolster a little more clearance and is reassembling the truck with Paul's help. With the smoke from East Wind filling the air, Bob Craig is seen here leaving one of the sidings by the station as he heads out to the mainline.
Frank sitting with East Wind on a siding in front of the steaming bays as he checks over the gauges before departing the station. Dick with his train has just passed through Summit on the Branch Line as he heads towards Gruffer.
Chris and Dena Cooper have just passed through Horrendous and are on the Park access road crossing as they head towards Zip Junction and the Covered Bridge. Josh Frank at the controls of the Columbia steam engine "Lynn" with his grandpa, Skip Frank riding behind him as they pass through Zip Junction.
Richard with a long string a cars as he comes down the grade on Short and is crossing the mainline at Zip Junction. Bob gives a wave as he departs the station with the young lady in black who has her head on backwards. Well it looks like that!
Wayne Boron at the controls of Dave Foster's pair of speeders as they leave the station siding heading for the mainline. Frank haming it up for the cameraman as he passes through Horrendous on his way to Zip Junction.
Bob on the mainline as he heads towards Drudgery near the beginning of this run with his Galloping Goose version. Judson with his box cab as he heads down the mainline with Dave Woldman riding behind him.
Josh coasting by through Zip Junction with Skip and "Lynn" giving off very little exhaust out of her stack. Paul Zorko is all smiles as I quickly catch him on the the run as he passes through Horrendous as he heads back towards the station.
Bob emerging from the Covered Bridge with his train as he heads for Zip Junction and points West. Chris inside the Covered Bridge as he rumbles over the wooden decking with next destination Zip Junction.
Judson and Dave as they are passing through the Covered Bridge in this long shot of the activity. Ken, our Pres., as he passes through the Covered Bridge on his way towards Zip Junction and Horrendous with his electric powered steeple cab.
Where's the smoke? I see East Wind, but I don't see all that smoke as Frank passes through the Covered Bridge with East Wind. I'll bet he finally put that gasoline engine in the tender. Skip and Josh relaxing at the station as "Lynn" makes with the smoke as she idles by the air and water supply post.
Harry, Steve, Bonnie and Edith riding out of the Orchard yard siding as Dick heads for the mainline with his SW1500 switcher and train. Judson arriving back at the station after his run with Paul Zorko standing behind him.
Ken departing the station with his electric powered train and Anna Zorko riding behind him as he starts to gain speed. With all the rain we've been having Robbi Haines informed me of this fungi out by Hilton, which was about 16 inches across.
A view from the top looking down upon it showing the different colorations in the fungi. Steve and Bonnie Zaken with their train as Steve reaches out to acquire the signal at Filmor so they may proceed into the next block.
