Public Run - 8/24/14


Josh Frank gives his grandpa Skip Frank a helping hand in getting Lynn ready for the public run as she sits up on one of the steaming bays. At the back side of the Stanek Car Barn, Ken Brooks is getting his train out with a hand from Paul Emch.
John Deptowicz all smiles as he approaches Horrendous towing cars from another train with Dave Woldman riding on the back proving Snoopy can do it. Dick Clark is the first train to be loaded for today's Public run as he departs with Dave Hird as his conductor.
Harry Tabor at the controls of the club's GP38 as he passes through Zip Junction with a trainload of passengers with Lou DeLembo as his conductor. Down by the Truss Bridge I caught Paul Zorko as he passed through on his way towards Mackey's Run.
Joe Vasko as he's running over the grade crossing for the Park Access Road as he heads towards Mackey's Run with his SW9 gas powered switcher. John Koontz with the Park's engine as he rolls towards the Truss Bridge with Dave Woldman as his conductor.
Ken Brooks approaches the Truss Bridge with his passengers and will soon be rumbling over the wooden deck of the bridge. John Deptowicz with the Snoopy train as he heads towards Hilton and the long grade down to get to Fern.
Dick as he approaches Hemlock passes a tree that was felled last year by workers for the Park. Paul with his SW9 has just passed through Drudgery on his way towards Hemlock with a full load of passengers on his train.
Joe as he passes through Drudgery is just a few minutes out from Shriver Station on the beginning of his run. Next to come by was John and as he has just passed over the crossing on the mainline for Ted's Connection.
Skip Frank at the controls of Lynn who is giving off a volume of smoke as he passes over the Ted's Connection crossing on the mainline. Ken with his electric powered steeple cab has just left the station and is crossing over the Park Access Road.
Harry with a full load of passengers as he passes by in front of the steaming bays on his next run. John with a happy load of passengers who are all smiles as they leave the station riding behind Snoopy.
John advances the throttle as he pushes the shifter forward to get the big engine rolling on its next run as he departs the station. Jerry Bell is about to pull up to load passengers with Frank Smoley on the train behind and Ken with his steeple cab on track two.
Bill Besselman, our rider counter, seated in a chair as Paul departs the station with Valerie Bilchak by the tree talking to our loader Greg Guy. Logan Tapolyai is running his brother Austin, around on the Orchard Loop behind the station with George Metts' military engine.
John as he nears the end of his run has just passed over Cider Bridge as he heads towards Shriver Station. Mike Harkleroad is all smiles as he crosses over the Cider Bridge on his way towards Shriver Station to load passengers.
Ken at the same location with his train passing over the Cider Bridge with a family that's all smiles, enjoying the ride. Next to come along was Frank Smoley with his passengers as he heads for Festival Bridge.
Bill Deptowicz at the controls of the Snoopy train as he rumbles by the photographer, his son John, for this picture. Paul Emch, president of the club, has just passed through Pandora and will soon be approaching Shoe and the Covered Bridge.
John caught Dick as he passes through Pandora with Dave Hird as his conductor on the rear as his train heads for Shoe. John Koontz on the curve through Pandora as he heads towards Shoe and the covered Bridge with his passengers.
Mike with the Camelback and his three passengers has just come off of the Big Bend Bridge as he heads towards Pandora. A view through the trees of Ted Nyland and as he powers his interurbans around the curve at Pandora.
Next to come by was Bill with the Snoopy train as he heads towards Shoe. John coming off the Festival Bridge is on the back side of the loop behind the Shriver Station with Harry Tabor as his conductor.
As John approaches the photographer we get to see the passengers that are riding his train. Amy Deptowicz and Logan Tapolyai watch as Austin Tapolyai runs the gas powered military engine on the Orchard Loop behind the station during the run.
With no more public passengers to haul, Jen Zorko takes her mother Anna Zorko along with Valerie Bilchak and Greg Guy for a ride. Paul Emch has just pulled into the station and is waiting for the passengers to unload from his train.
George Metts watches as Joe rolls to a stop and his passengers will soon be unloading with the help of Edith Hacker, in the checkered shirt, at the rear of his train. One of the last trains to come in, Mike with the Camelback smiles as his passengers unload.
