8.27.06 Public Run

The morning was overcast and raining and it kept on raining even as the hour of the run approached. There were a few hardy souls willing to wait in the rain for a ride and a ride we will give them.
Judson Elliott with his rain gear bringing one of the first train load of wet passengers into the station. As Judson departs you can see the line waiting isn't very long.
Frank Foti with his Pacific "Eastwind" is on a steaming bay in the drizzle of rain. George Woodling is loading the trains as they come in for passengers.
The members sit under the shelter of the station roof, many didn't get their equipment out due in part to the rain and low rider attendance. Rick Nagy doing his best to get himself and the pasengers wet.
Frank backs the Eastwind down the track to connect to the rider cars. The rain is finally letting up and Dick Clark gets a helping hand unloading his train from Paul Emch and Don Speidel.
Frank approaching Horrendous with his load of passengers. Rick just passing over the access road crossing on the main line heading out.
Paul Emch with the Conrail engine is being loaded by Roger Harnish with Jerry Bell as conductor and Dick checks his air pressure. George Metts assembles "Scrappy" as "Lynn" smokes up the steaming bays.
George talking with Skip Frank who is watching over his engine as steam pressure builds. Bill Besselman, in yellow shirt, talking to rider as Paul heads back to the engine.
Dick prepares to leave just awaiting Rogers words "All Aboard". Rick at the unloading area with the GP38 and Judson and his train pulling in behind him to unload his passengers.
The rain has tapered off as Judson unloads and will have to wait to pull ahead. Frank coasts into the station unloading area with his train and the steam vapors clearly showing.
Ted Nyland has his interurbans loaded and starts his run. In the steaming bays George and Skip tend to "Lynn" as she lifts her safeties as if proclaiming "I want to run!"
The activity at the station as the trains come in to unload with Jerry Bell as conductor on the train about to load. George Woodling with Linda Harris as conductor are leaving wiht their passengers.
Pam Znidar as conductor and Rick wait for Roger as he checks the riders positions on the cars. Jerry is the engineer for this run with Paul Emch as conductor.
The flags have been put up across the access walk and the last of the riders are in line for a ride. Frank pulls off the mainline onto the sidings near the steaming bay with George on the rider car.
