9.09.09 Work Session

Our breaker panel weather enclosure was working loose so Mark Ross added the necessary strapping to secure it back in place. A view looking North at the painted bridge.
The end view, the rafters and underside of the roof was left unpainted to spray on a fireproofing solution. The window openings need wood trim around them and construction on the bridge will be concluded.
Dave Foster and Bill Deptowicz are replacing some of the original ties from the track panel we used on the bridge. A view showing how we removed the flooring to get at the ties.
Lew Fowler and George Metts checking out the engine after George made a new bushing for the return hydraulic line to fix the leak. John Koontz is replacing the floor boards as Ken Brooks and Dave replace ties.
John busy at work refastening down the floor boards. With several of us working on this little project we made relatively quick time of it.
John finishing fastening down the last of the floor boards. The project is all done except for the window opening trim which will soon be addressed.
Joe Banzer replaced the horn button on the Club's GP38 locomotive as one of the terminals broke off. Now when you push the button the horn sounds with its mellow air horn sound.
Rick Nagy takes a rest as John and Dick Clark add ties to the curved rail that Dick bent. John crimping the rail clips over as Dick uses the tie lifter to hold the tie up tight against the rail.
The curved rail in place with all the ties added makes a nice sweeping reverse curve. Back at the station Kitty Shriver was cutting the grass in the Orchard area as she usually does weather permitting.
