Club Run - 9/11/10

Steve and Bonnie Zaken with their Plum Cove engine as they come into the station. Lou DeLembo watches as George Raby checks the brakes and clearance on the trucks of the club's new conductor car.
Eric and Monica Flynn with Edith Hacker and Kitty Shriver enjoying their discussion as they wait for a train. George Metts, Mike Harkleroad, Dave Foster and Skip Frank out back behind the station in conversation.
Dick Clark and Ron Trenhaile try to help Ken Brooks as his electric cab developed a problem. Ken's new rider car all painted and lettered really looks good.
Ron backing the club engine and train as he tows Ken's cars up Short to the main line and then pushes his cars to the storage barn. Afterward Ron took Rex Shriver, Monica, Eric and Kitty for a ride.
Ken's engine on a flat car to get it up to his truck for a ride home and repairs. With batteries removed it makes it easier to push as Ken just moved the flat car with the engine for a load off the turntable.
As I went back to my car I found this beautifully restored military motorcycle parked a few spaces away in the parking lot. A three quarter view from the front and it really looks good.
Ron and Rex watch George Ruby at the controls of Steve's train with Paul Zorko on the rear as they pass by the station. George Metts with his circus train with the cab of the Plum Cove chassis modeled after Toby.
George's two trains, the circus train and the scratch-built military gas powered switcher that Mike is running. Dick having taken the switch from the mainline will soon be on the Branch Line westbound with the club's GP38.
Paul with the circus train on the grade by Mackeys Run will soon be rumbling over the Big Bend Bridge. Dick pullling into the station with Ron, Bonnie and Edith riding behind on the train.
George adjusting the idle on his switcher engine in front of the station as Mike watches. One of George's other engines is this one which he called "Snappy".
John Koontz finally graced us with his Thomas the engine he has been working on which is scratch-built by him. A close-up of the engine which has a sheet metal body with 7" cast iron drivers and a carved wooden face with balls for the eyes, beautiful!
A view looking down through the cab showing the speed control from 4QD, the battery and motor. A view of the left side of the engine with the side rods at the bottom of the motion.
A view of the front of Thomas looks very good, nice job John! John ready to depart the station with George looking at the rear of the cab and Dave Foster behind them.
Josh Frank at the controls with John behind him as they head out on the mainline for a ride. A broadside picture of the side of the engine, nice detail and pin striping.
Rick at the controls of the GP38 as he passes through Lester. As Josh, George, Mike and Dave watch Trisha Koontz gets ready to run Thomas with hubby John behind her.
