Public Run - 9/11/2011

Paul Zorko at the beginning of his run as he departs the station with his passengers. Seated in the folding chair at the side of the track is our Bill Besselman, passenger counter for today, watching Ken Brooks as he and his passengers leave the station for their ride.
Don Speidel at the controls of the Nickel Plate Road switcher leaving the station with more happy train riders. Frank departs the station with more passengers as he heads on down the main line.
Karl Losely at the controls of the club's GP38 on the switch that takes him over to the main line with a full complement of passengers. Richard Sales departs the station with his two passengers and a smile for the cameraman.
The youngsters like to gather by the fence to watch the trains as they come in to pick up passengers and here we see Don leaving the station with the NKP Switcher as Frank looks over the gauges on East Wind. Karl waits for Roy Harris to finish loading his train before he heads out on the main line.
Ted Nyland with his pair of interurbans running with a light load heads out on his first run for today. Kevin Harris in the yellow shirt listens as his dad gives riding instructions to the passengers before the start of their ride.
A laid back Richard with a full load of passengers as he starts his run. Karl changed over and is now at the controls of the Park's engine as he passes by the water tower on the main line.
Don just passing through Horrendous is at the controls of the NKP Hudson owned by Paul Emch. Rick Nagy behind the GP38 after emerging from the Covered Bridge passes Don who is heading in the opposite direction and soon nearing the end of his run.
Frank, East Wind and passengers are just taking the crossing at the Park access road as they head for Horrendous. Rick on his way through Horrendous with another load of happy passengers heading for Zip Junction.
We were visited by a black rat snake on the grade before Filmor and we escorted him across the tracks into the woods so he wouldn't get a split personality. Paul Emch with his NPK switcher passing through Horrendous shortly after the snake was helped out of the way.
A good shot of Don with the NKP Hudson as they pass through Horrendous on their way towards Filmor with Lew Fowler as conductor. Richard as he starts the grade down from Horrendous through Filmor on his way to Patty's Rock Bridge.
A different view of the trains passing through Horrendous and here we see Rick with the GP38 as he heads down grade to Filmor with John Elliott as conductor. Frank with East Wind will shortly be rumbling over the crossing for the Branch Line at Filmor with Judy Oscker as conductor.
A relaxed Don as he passes through the Truss Bridge will soon be on the crossing for the Park access road and the engine will start working to get up the grade to Mackey's Run. Richard's passengers give us a wave as they pass the photographer on their way to Big Bend Bridge.
Frank's at the crossings at Zip Junction and on his way to Horrendous as he is about midway through his run. Ken on the main line by the switch that goes to Short Line after just leaving the station.
Don waits with his Hudson to be loaded as Paul begins to pull away with his load of passengers. Don opens the throttle on the Hudson as the big drivers grip the rail and move his load of passengers on down the main line.

Our passenger counter for the day, Bill, talks with Dick Clark at the station as Roy finishes loading his train. Kitty Shriver's message to Frank Foti and East Wind -- "Nuclear Steam is Cleaner", that she had made into a button badge.
In the station, Kitty, Judy and Pam are all smiles as they pose for our photographer, Bill Deptowicz. Mr. Bill all finished with his counting duties enjoys a cup of coffee and a humorous moment with Marie Nyland in the station.
