9.13.09 Public Run


Another beautiful day for a Public Run as Richard Sales pulls into the station with his first load of passengers. Rick Nagy behind the GP38 running a short train today as he slows for the station stop.
Dick Clark with a full load of riders is about to depart the station with his SW1500 handling the load. Ken Brooks leaving for his first run will soon take the switch to cross over to the main line.
Skip Frank with his steamer "Lynn" and the circus train with his happy load of riders. Roy Harris loading trains today as he gives riding instructions to the passengers on Ken Vendlingers' train.
Dave Foster waits to load pasengers as Dick Philpott driving Frank Russell's interurban train waits for Roy's "All Aboard!". Robbi Haines is showing Thomas Ridler, our newest junior member, how to run George Metts' circus train behind the station.
Rex Shriver at the controls of his switcher as he approaches Short with his load of riders. Bob Bassett at the controls of the Park engine with Steve Zaken as conductor as they pass through Zip Junction.

Tom Pappas heading for Cider Bridge on his way back to the station with his charge of passengers. Next to pass by this location is Chet Roberts with his Mogul with only a few minutes before he reaches the station.
Linda just passed through Horrendous and is about to take the crossing at the Park service road. Rick at Horrendous with Pam Znidar as his conductor are about to approach the grade down to Filmor.
Karl Losely with the Hudson and a full load of passengers with George Woodling as conductor pass through Horrendous under the watchful eye of Mike Uhrich. Ken arrives at this location shortly after Karl.
Skip approaches after having passed through High Creek on his way thru Horrendous. Following behind, Scott with his passengers and Lou DeLembo as conductor pass thru the same location.
Ted Nyland with his pair of interurbans is next to pass by the camera lens. Almost missed Ken because the flash didn't charge fast enough but I did.
Rick slows for the start of the grade down to Filmor as he leaves Horrendous. Back behind the station Ethan Deptowicz is giving his Mom, Amy and Edith Hacker a ride around Orchard Loop.
Karl behind the station at Sharp as he nears the end of this trip. John Deptowicz with his Snoopy train after passing thru Thorn approaches Sharp following the Hudson.
Dick taking the switch at Thorn to stay on the main line into the station. Rex at the same location with maybe a hundred yards left to cover before the station terminus.
Tom coming off Big Bend Bridge, passing thru Pandora on his way to the covered bridge. Roy back at the station watches a loaded train as it departed to make sure everything is alright with the loading.
Kevin Harris with his "new" look sporting a full beard and mustache was helping at the loading zone. Chet's steamer up on the steaming bay during the blow down which relieves the pressure in the boiler after he dropped the fire in his steamer.
Karl adds coal to the tender as Roy loads his train with Dick's loaded train just pulling out of the station. Karl is about to depart as Kevin finishes loading John's Snoopy train in this overhead shot.
Mark Ross was our passenger counter today and watches Roy loading the next train. With only a few riders left in line Jerry Bell starts probably his last run with public riders as Mark is in conversation with him.
