9.18.05 Public Run

Dave Schweitzer positioning the transfer table as Dick Clark sets the transition track in place to offload Dave's engine. The switcher engine frame that Judson Elliott just acquired.
Frank Foti on one of the steaming bays with his Pacific popping it's safety. The engine is turned and about to head out on the main line so that Frank can make up his train for the run.
Ted Nyland with his interurbans is loaded and Roy is giving the passengers riding instructions as Dick waits and Frank takes on water. Kitty Shriver and Rachel Beardslee are at the trinket table.

The line grows as the people wait for their turn to ride the trains. Dave waits as passengers start to unload at the direction of Linda Harris at the station.

Roger Harnish looking over his shoulder to check his load of passengers before cracking open the throttle. Frank all loaded waiting to depart as Dick watches and Dave behind Frank wonders what's the holdup.
Ted approaching the diamond at Gulch with his passengers. Clayton Davidson (center) and passengers on Rogers' train with this panned action shot.
Ted departing the station with another load of passengers. Robbi Haines taking a turn as engineer on Rogers' train as she opens the throttle and the engine starts to move on down the track.

Frank tends to his steam engine as the public watches as though drawn to the scene like a magnet...a love and curiosity of steam. The end of the riders line goes way up to there past the white canopy.

The action at the station rarely slows down and the smiling faces of the public make it all worth while. Karl Losely on the Hudson waiting for the public to be loaded as Dick puts a shovel of coal in his diesel. Are you paying attention?
Dave after just unloading his train shares a moment with Frank Russell in front of the station. The passengers having just got off a train ride are putting money in the donation box.
Marty McGuan pulling into the station on Rogers engine with his passengers as Marcel Uhrich watches. Tom Pappas with his Nickel Plate switcher poised for Roy's "all Aboard" call.

The end of the line is at the crosswalk to our loading area. The passengers departing the station after their ride file out of the unloading area.

Some of our group at the station as riders take pictures of the kids by the trains after the ride.

Don Spiedel taking a run with Ted Nylanders interurbans to give Ted a break. Tom watches as his passengers unload from his train.

Don in line for picking up passengers for a run. Brent Lane on the club engine about to leave the station with his load of passengers.
Karl coasts to a stop as Don pulls away from the station. Tom reaching for the switch controller that will set the switch to the yard tracks and we see Linda at the end of the line.

Bill Deptowicz just leaving Pandora with Logan waiting to blow the horn at the next crossing. Happy faces of the little kids and the big kids ensure that there's nothing like a train ride.

Bill coming into the station with the last load of passengers for todays run. We had a tremendous day as we hauled 1035 passengers today.
