Fall Invitational Open Meet - Part I - 9/20/14

Carley Guy reaches to acquire the block signal after waiting for it to clear with her dad Greg and brother Cory sitting behind her as we clear the block by Hemlock, traveling eastbound. Skip Frank getting ready to get "Lynn" steamed up.
No Josh Frank didn't fall off a engine, he took a tumble with a four wheeler and come out on the bad end of it. Mike Harkleroad brought the Camelback and is in the process of raising steam in the engine.
Bob Beardsley rolls towards the station with his Pennsylvania steamer which he converted to being propane fired. Bob in the foreground as he passes by Richard Sales and Marty Pinkston as they wait for that track section to clear and Robert Beardsley is riding behind his dad.
Ron Trenhaile with his F40pH is eastbound having just come off Cider Bridge as he heads towards Zip Junction. Bob adjusting the throttle as he heads up the slight grade to Zip Junction after emerging from the Covered Bridge with his son Bob riding behind him.
Shriver Station is always a gathering place for the members for the different discussions of the day and here the members enjoy each other's company. Ken Brooks rolls into the station, with Rick Nagy riding behind him, wondering why as he's pushed back to the station with the GP38.
Up on a steaming bay the little Camelback has its steam pressure up and is lifting its safety as Mike watches. Paul Emch running westbound enters Horrendous with passengers riding behind his SW9.
Bob after climbing the grade from Gulch with family members aboard as he approaches High Creek and the Branch Line crossing. Donna and Bob Craig from Pennsylvania, brought the diesel engine that's Bob's been working on for a couple years that uses a real diesel engine for power.
Next to come along was Marie and Ted Nyland and with their pair of interurban's with the tender from his American steam engine connected in between the two units as they approach High Creek. Carley and her dad Greg, having passed through Gulch will soon be at High Creek.
Skip starts to throttle back after assaulting the grade from the Gulch Bridge as he heads towards High Creek, Gillette and Horrendous with Josh riding behind him on the circus train. Mike with the Camelback will soon be rumbling over the Branch Line crossing at High Creek.
Richard Sales as he rumbles up the grade from Hilde Hill and will be approaching the diamond crossing at Gulch very shortly as he is eastbound towards the station. Bob letting a visitor run his diesel engine as they coast down the grade from Hilton after the block cleared.
Members sitting at the station as lunch is starting to be served. Frank Smoley is all smiles leaving Shriver Station with friends and his wife Lois riding at the rear.
Judy Oscker standing at the station taking pictures as Skip, Mike and Bob pull into the station triple heading three steam engines pulling a train. As the triple header pulled up to the water source, Dick Clark eastbound with his SW1500 passed through the station as Richard Sales approaches westbound.
The three engines sitting in front of the station as the engineers tend to the boilers adding coal, checking the water gauges and taking on water as needed as Josh watches. Richard waits for traffic to clear ahead before departing the station with John Koontz as his passenger.
Sometime later Ted pulled into the station with his American locomotive with John riding on his nonpowered interurban car with Richard pulling into the station behind them. Frank Smoley getting ready to leave the siding by the station with friends as he talks to his wife Lois.
Coming into the station eastbound I caught Bob with Ron Trenhaile as his passenger as they slow for traffic ahead. The side view of Bob's engine which is powered by a diesel engine running hydraulic motors which really sounds like a diesel!
The typical activity at the Shriver station as we had a lot of trains running today. Mike having just dumped the ashes over the ash pit with the Camelback will take on coal from the 5 gallon pail next as he uncouples Bob's Pennsylvania steam switcher from the Camelback.
Almost a silhouette of Bob Beardsley as he runs across the grade crossing for the Park Access Road and starts to accelerate. Next to pass by was Cory Guy as engineer of the GP38 with his dad Greg riding behind him.
With a wisp of exhaust, Ted passes through Zip Junction on his way towards Horrendous with John as his passenger. Bob having just passed over Festival Bridge and passing through Thorn with Ron will soon be on the loop behind Shriver Station as he nears the end of this run.
Caught engineer Cory as he rounds the curve having passed through Pandora as he heads for Shoe and the Covered Bridge. Skip with his steamer Lynn, just coming off the Big Bend Bridge with Josh riding behind him as they head for Pandora.
At the same location Frank almost at Pandora with his trainload of passengers as he heads for Shoe and the Covered Bridge. Another photo, same train, as they pass by Pandora.
