Public Run - 9/25/2011


Dave Foster purchased a new hydraulic hose and after he and Ken Brooks installed it, we see Ken and Dave refilling the hydraulic reservoir so the engine can be used for today's run. Judson Elliott with his scratch-built engine under construction has a load of youngsters as he passes through Horrendous down the grade to Filmor.
Jerry Bell at the controls of the GP38 with one of the first loads of passengers for the public run today with Pam Znidar as conductor. Tom Pappas with his SW6 Nickel Plate Road switcher is just about to start his first run with passengers after having been loaded by Roy Harris.
Up on the steaming bay, Bob Beardslee had his Pennsylvania slopeback tender switcher with Mike Harkleroad looking over the firebox as Bob's son pumps water into the boiler with Wayne Boron looking on. Activity at the station as Paul Emch returns from his first run and passengers wait to unload.
Dick Clark departs the station with Judy Oscker as conductor and a full load of passengers on his train and Lou DeLembo is standing at the corner of the station. Scott Hewis at the controls of his electric-powered engine moves out towards the main line with his load of passengers. .
Ken Brooks' train is all loaded as he eases the throttle, moves the gear shifter and begins pulling away from the station. Frank departs the station with less than a full load of passengers as he heads on down the main line.
Judson near the beginning of the start of his run has a family of passengers who are going to enjoy a ride on the train. Dick's train just starts rolling at the beginning of his run with a full load of passengers with Judy as his conductor.
Ted Nyland with his pair of interurbans and a family of passengers just leaving the station for their ride through the woods. Paul as he heads into Zip Junction with his passengers and Linda Harris as conductor is just minutes away from arriving back at the station.
Scott rounds the bend coming out of Horrendous as he passes over the grade crossing on his way through Zip Junction. Judson and passengers as they pass through the Truss Bridge on the way towards Mackey's Run.
Tom on the grade at Mackey's Run as he heads for the Big Bend Bridge and points West. Don Speidel at Ridgeway will soon be rumbling over the Big Bend Bridge with his passengers and conductor, John Koontz.
Paul Emchs just coming off the Big Bend Bridge with his Hudson and passengers with Linda as conductor on this run. Scott with the drummming sound of his train over the wooden framework of the Big Bend Bridge as he passes by the photographer.
Here comes the Snoopy train with John Deptowicz at the controls as he passes through Pandora on the way to the Covered Bridge. Paul Zorko is just starting to leave the station with his load of passengers and Jonathan Shaffer as conductor for this run.
Tom on the left waits at the loading area for Don to pull away from the station with his trainload of passengers. With his train all loaded with passengers, Tom is about to start his run and that's Frank with his steamer about to pull up to load passengers.
Brett Harris and his dad, Roy have just finished loading passengers on Scott's train which will soon be rolling down the main line. A view from in front of the station with the photographer on the SW1500 and John Koontz on the interurbans as they watch the Snoopy train being loaded.
Bill Deptowicz starts the run with the Snoopy train, giving his son, John, a break to stretch his legs. As Bonnie Zaken, conductor for the train on the left watches, John waits for the signal from Roy so he can move the interurbans on his next run.
Paul and Jonathan as they arrive back at the station at the end of the run where the passengers will soon leave the train at the unloading area. Tom nears the end of his run and throws the switch to take the alternate track to arrive at the station.
The noise of the safety lifted on East Wind startles the youngsters who've just finished their ride. Paul rounding the last curve as he comes into the station with his Hudson and will soon be at the unloading area.
After the public run, Bill had taken some club members for a Snoopy train ride and is now coming back into the station. Bill and Judy enjoying a ride on Dick's train.
Frank turning East Wind up on the turntable as he prepares to back her onto one of the steaming bays to clean her up after the run. Frank -- no matter how you try, you'll never be able to run East Wind from inside the cab....you just won't fit!
