Public Run - 9/26/10

Our fire starter for this day is Roy Harris which looks more like he ignited the end of a gas pipe but we know there isn't one in the fire ring. At the unloading zone John Deptowicz brought his latest creation for his Snoopy train, a bobber caboose.
Of course Woodstock in his nest has a prominent place on the roof of the bobber caboose. Snoopy standing at the safety railing at the rear of the caboose.
Ethan Deptowicz had the pleasure of hauling the new caboose on its first trip around the track on the shake-down run with Grampa Bill Deptowicz and Judy Oscker riding behind him. Rick Nagy on the Branch Line with guests and Dick Clark on the rear.
Gracie Pekarek as engineer running Grampa Ken Brooks train with Lew Fowler on the rear as they approach Horrendous. Gracie is all smiles as the train passes the photographer on its way to Filmor.
Robbi Haines trying to get a hug from Ethan as he stopped in front of the station with Edith Hacker joining in. The line up of trains waiting to load at the begining of the Public Run today.
Frank Foti coasts into the station after his preliminary run around the track to check things out. With the line of potential riders behind him, Skip Frank moves his Columbia steam engine named "Lynn" up to the loading zone.
Paul Emch with his new electric powered Nickel Plate Hudson locomotive that also has a sound system in it. Frank's steamer East Wind waiting its turn to move up to the loading area puts forth the smoke.
Robbi watches as Dave Foster ,our passenger counter today, shows the counter at 125 riders so far with Lew enjoying a cup of coffee. A front view of Pauls' engine showing the skyline and the elephant ears which are smoke deflectors.
Paul checks the loading process as Roy and Linda Harris, the loaders today, talk with one of the passengers. Marty Pinkston bundled up against the cold and that's Scott Hewis as conductor of Paul's train which is just pulling out of the station.
John Deptowicz waits with his Snoopy train to move ahead and load passengers and Mike Harkleroad and Richard Sales is behind him after unloading their passengers. Richard and his laid back engineer car trying to keep his hands warm.
A study of concentration as Skip checks over the gauges of his engine as he moves up to the loading zone. Ken Brooks pulls into the station at the end of his run and that's Paul Zorko at the rear as conductor.
Kitty Shriver trying to keep warm by moving around instead of sitting at her table selling wares. Mike with his passengers all loaded up waits for Roy to give the "All Aboard" so he can move his train.
Karl Losely has moved into the loading area and waits for Jeff's train to be loaded first. Jeff Ridler's train is loaded with its complement of passengers and he is starting his run.
Paul is all smiles as he takes the grade at Mackeys Run and next he will be rumbling over the Big Bend Bridge. Ken with his trainload of passengers having just passed through the Truss Bridge waves to the family having a picnic and watching the trains.
Paul running the electric cab that Richard Sales makes and sells. Skip with the whistle blowing as he crosses over the grade crossing of the Park access road just past the Truss Bridge with the cool air ably showing off the steam vapors from the whistle and exhaust.
Back at the station we see the activity at the loading area with the trains waiting to be loaded with passengers so they may begin their run. Skip with John and Scott behind him at the unloading area in front of the station are waiting to pull ahead and load riders.
Dick Clark at the controls of the GP38 waits to be loaded as Don Speidel pulls away from the station under the watchful eye of Ken. As Roy asks a rider to tuck in her purse Dick waits for the signal that he may move his trainload of passengers.
With the end of the line in sight Frank starts his next run with East Wind hardly giving off much exhaust vapors. Richard starting his last run with public passengers for the day.
John with Logan Tapolyai behind him and his passengers depart the station. Ethan, George Metts, Judy, Mark Oscker, Kathy Fote and Amy Deptowicz at the fire ring trying to keep warm with Edith in the background.
Frank taking Mark, Kathy and Judy for a ride behind East Wind after the public run. Paul being towed to the yard after his engine developed a problem as Rick Nagy watches.
